The World Literature and Politics

Politics and literature are bound at present moment as never before. Currently, politics stopped being the very orders, decrees, executions, etc. In the 19th century the politics was transformed into a modern way of governing billions under the name of "democracy". For many, democracy is no different from the form of ruling that existed during Mediaeval times.
Nonetheless, with the advancement of all technical inventions, the literature entered a new phase of its development. It is curious that during the 19th century journalism progressed very quickly. There were initiated absolutely new forms of it, including editorial, gossip column, investigative journalism and so on. Journalism being an integrative and inseparable part of literature, constitutes an considerable part of all the modern mass media and is considered a "prism" through which the audience communicates with power.
What's more, the information became accessible for everyone. If necessary, for example, local authorities may publish a certain amount of information in a local newspaper or magazine. If necessary to make it globally available, it may be done through Internet very easily.
We shouldn't forget about political or ideological literature that became so widespread nowadays. We've never had so many brochures, posters, placards, broadsheets, etc calling on electorate to vote for this or that candidate. One of the brightest examples is "Mein Kampf" by Adolf Hitler that is regarded as the basis of all modern Nazism.
